Terms of Use Arevano Remote Support

This is a translation. The German version is legally binding.

1. Scope

These terms of use apply to the use of the software “Arevano Remote Support” (Arevano Remote) and the related connection service via www.arevano.com between

Arevano UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Buchenweg 4, 84375 Kirchdorf am Inn, Germany
HRB 14231, Local Court Landshut

(“Arevano”) and every person who downloads or runs the software or uses it to connect to another device (“user”). Services Arevano provides under a separate contract are additionally governed by the terms and conditions.

2. Services and limits

Remote Support lets a user access their own devices or view and control another device after the person at that device has given consent. Use is free of charge.

  • Without signing in, a session is limited to 10 minutes and use to 30 minutes in total per calendar day, per internet connection (IP address).
  • With an Arevano account, these limits do not apply unless Arevano decides otherwise.

Arevano may change the scope and limits of free use with effect for the future. There is no entitlement to a particular availability of the service.

3. Permitted use

Users may only use Remote Support for devices they are entitled to use themselves or with the consent of the authorized person at the target device. In particular, it is prohibited to

  • impersonate another person, an employee of a company or an authority, or pressure people into installing the software or allowing access,
  • use Remote Support for fraud, for accessing or altering other people's data, or for any other unlawful purpose,
  • circumvent the limits of free use, for example by switching connections or accounts,
  • disrupt the service or query it automatically.

Users are responsible for everything they do on the target device during a session.

4. Truthful information

Anyone connecting without signing in must enter their own full name. The name is shown to the person at the target device before they consent.

When creating and using an Arevano account, information must be truthful, complete and kept up to date, including at least first and last name. Credentials must be kept confidential and must not be shared.

5. Termination, deactivation and blocking

Arevano may end sessions at any time and may deactivate or block the use of Remote Support, individual connections and Arevano accounts at any time, in particular in case of false information, breach of these terms, suspected misuse, or where necessary to protect third parties or the service. In case of suspected misuse this may happen without prior notice. There is no entitlement to activation.

6. Logging

To establish connections, calculate the limits and prevent misuse, Arevano stores for each session in particular its start, end and duration, the IP addresses of the parties, the name entered or the account, and the ID and computer name of the target device. Screen content, input and transferred files are not stored. Details are given in the privacy policy.

7. Software

Arevano grants users a simple, non-transferable right, revocable at any time, to use Remote Support under these terms. The software may only be obtained from www.arevano.com. Modification, distribution of modified versions and reverse engineering are prohibited unless mandatory law permits otherwise.

8. Liability

For free use, Arevano is liable only for intent and gross negligence. Liability for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and for fraudulently concealed defects remains unaffected. Users indemnify Arevano against third-party claims based on impermissible use for which they are responsible.

9. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which a consumer has their habitual residence remain unaffected. Place of jurisdiction is Landshut, Germany, to the extent permitted by law. Arevano may change these terms with effect for future sessions; each connection is governed by the version published at that time. Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
